Use a good cleanser that can help get rid of the dead skin cells in your face. One thing to remember is that dead skin cells can make your skin look dull.

Exfoliate your skin at least once a week.

Aside from helping you to remove dead skin cells, exfoliating can also stimulate the growth of new skin cells. Just remember to not overdo it to prevent your skin from drying.

Moisturize your skin daily

Moisturizers aren’t just for women any more.  Moisturizing is the best product you can use on your skin.  It helps keep your skin hydrated and healthy as you age.  Dry skin makes you look old and leads to wrinkles.

Choose the Right Moisturizer

If your skin is normal or dry, oil-based moisturizers are recommended.  If your skin is oily or you know that you are prone to breakouts, then you should choose water-based moisturizers.

Sunscreen is Your Friend

Always protect your skin from the sun by wearing sunscreen. Too much sun exposure can lead to premature aging and other skin conditions. If you are always under the sun, the tendency is for the skin to speed up the normal aging process while slowing down skin cell production to make you look older than your actual age. Take note that your hair also needs protection. Luckily, there are a lot of gels and lotions with SPF protection. According to experts, the SPF level recommended is 30.

Stay Hydrated

For a clearer and more youthful-looking skin, always stay hydrated. It’s not just good for your body it’s great for your skin.  Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. You should also cut back on caffeine and alcohol. Both can increase your chances of becoming dehydrated and have a drying effect on your skin.

Use an Aloe Shaving Cream

Since you need to shave regularly, you should also be cautious of the shaving cream that you buy. As much as possible, choose a product with aloe. Leave the cream on for a couple of minutes before shaving to soften your facial hair. Also, do not shave against the direction of hair growth. Doing so may irritate your skin.

Toners

You can use a toner to tighten your pores and make it firmer. Most men need to include toning in their daily skin care regimen because their pores are very visible and pronounced. If your skin is dry already, make sure to avoid toners that contain alcohol.

Avoid Foods with Sugar

As much as possible, do not pig out on foods that are high in sugar.  Follow a well-balanced diet and increase your consumption of vegetables and fruits. These are high is anti-oxidants which fight off free radicals that are bad for your skin. Anti-oxidants are important to maintain youthfulness.

Taking good care of your skin and being a little “vain” is a good sign that you are a responsible man who takes the time to take care of his skin and over-all health.
